Meet Our pastor

Lead Pastor

Joshua Crowell

Pastor Josh

It is a great privilege to serve as the Lead Pastor of FBCLacey. I have been married to my wife, Kacey, since 2020, and together we have two beautiful daughters, with our third child on the way. Being a husband and father is one of the greatest blessings God has given me.

I was born and raised on Vancouver Island, Canada. Growing up surrounded by the ocean, trees, and forests has given me a great appreciation for God’s creation and has helped me understand just how great and powerful our God truly is. I desire to know God’s Word deeply, and I pray that God will use me to draw others toward the saving faith that is found only through His Son, Jesus Christ.

I studied Biblical Studies and Worship Arts at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. During my four years there, God continued to develop my love for Scripture, teaching, worship, and the local church. My desire as a pastor is to faithfully preach the Word of God, point people to Jesus, and help our church grow spiritually.

One of the first verses I ever memorized was Proverbs 1:7, and it continues to be a life verse for me:

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

This verse has shaped my approach to life and ministry, as everything we do as Christians begins with knowing who God is and responding to Him with reverence, humility, and obedience.

Colossians 3:1–3 is another passage that has been especially meaningful to me. It reminds me to set my mind on the things above and to live with a heart centered on Christ. Life is too busy to be caught up in the here and now, and if we take our eyes off Christ, it is all too easy to lose our way on the narrow path.

One of my favorite chapters in Scripture is Romans 7. I love the honesty of Paul’s struggle with sin and his recognition that our hope is ultimately found not in ourselves, but in Christ Jesus. This passage is a great reminder that no matter how “good” we may think we are, we are all susceptible to sin and continually need the grace of God in our lives. We live in a broken world, and the church is filled with broken people who need God’s grace and forgiveness just as much as everyone else.

As your pastor, my desire is to see our church become a community that is centered on Christ, rooted in God’s Word, and committed to serving one another. I don’t simply want to see people attend church, but for the members of FBCLacey to grow as disciples of Jesus and live out the gospel in every area of their lives. My prayer is that FBCLacey will be a beacon of hope in a fallen world and that God will use this church to proclaim His love and to reach those made in His image with the good news of Jesus Christ.

I’m grateful that God has called me to serve this church, and I look forward to seeing what He will continue to do here at FBCLacey.

Blessings,
Pastor Josh
